Electrical Technician Required In Midfield Group, Australia

The Midfield Group is privately owned and operates a true 'Paddock to Plate' experience as we own farms, factories, and distribution as to ensure we retain control of the key elements of the process of getting livestock from paddock to plate.
We have a current vacancy for a highly skilled and safety-focused Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria.
In this role, you will support the electrical operations of the plant by assisting in the design, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
This role ensures compliance with safety standards and regulations while contributing to the plant's efficiency and reliability.ResponsibilitiesAssist in designing and laying out electrical installations and circuitry for plant machinery, switchgear, cabling systems, and motor control systems.Collect data, perform tests and calculations, and graph results to inform electrical design and maintenance decisions.Estimate the cost and quantities of materials required for electrical installations and repairs.Inspect designs and completed electrical installations to ensure compliance with plant specifications, Australian standards, and safety regulations.Assemble, install, test, calibrate, and repair electrical equipment and installations, ensuring all work conforms to relevant regulations and safety requirements.Conduct electrical workshop functions, including installing assemblies for protection relays, metering devices, and indicating equipment.Support research and experimentation programs to optimize electrical systems and improve efficiency.QualificationsEssential:Diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field.At least three years of relevant work experience in electrical engineering or a related field may substitute for formal qualifications.Desirable:Experience in the food processing or manufacturing industry.Familiarity with electrical systems used in meat processing plants.You have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination process.Key SkillsStrong technical aptitude in electrical systems design and maintenance.Proficiency in interpreting and preparing electrical diagrams and plans.Ability to perform complex calculations and graph results effectively.Excellent attention to detail to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Commitment to safety and compliance with workplace regulations.
