We currently have a vacancy for an experienced and motivated Electrician to join our operations at our Solomon mine site reporting to the site Water Services Coordinator. This permanent full-time position within our Water Services department will oversee safe, effective and timely maintenance to our water network assets.
Key Responsibilities Leading a core team of diverse electricians and water technicians within the Water Management scope not limited to maintenance and fault finding of VSDs, generators, pumps and instruments. Safe and effective leadership of a multi-disciplined team including the coaching, mentoring and development of all. Promote rigorous compliance to Zero Harm principles. Provide visible safety leadership (lead by example), modelling positive safety behaviours to staff whilst undertaking incident reporting and investigation as required by corporate policies. Ensure that Contractors within your scope of work meet the contractual agreements and electrical requirements. Manage expectation setting and performance reviews of team members to ensure a successful pathway is built for all. Focus on continuous improvement strategies and implementation to ensure production improvements are delivered. Qualifications and ExperiencePrevious supervisory experience within the water management space.VSD and submersible pump fault finding abilities.Generator maintenance and fault finding knowledge.Demonstrated high level of leadership skills.A proven ability to coach, mentor and train a diverse team.Excellent management and organisational skills, with a high attention to detail.Ability to undertake quality risk assessments.Ability to work with other departments to achieve objectives, team oriented.Proven commitment to principles of safety and zero harm.Proficient user of computer maintenance management systems – SAP & Microsoft Office.Western Australian A Grade Electrical licence.Electrical Contractors License or Electrical Nominee desirable.Low voltage rescue/CPR.First aid.Demonstrated interpersonal skills, including both written and verbal communication skills with the ability to liaise and interact with individuals and groups of varying levels of authority.Demonstrated ability to use initiative, be self-directed and work under minimal supervision.Our Commitment Fortescue is deeply committed to providing a safe culture that builds respect, fosters inclusiveness, and values diversity.
