Our Deflector Gold/Copper mine is in an exciting phase with record production and an accelerated exploration programme. The recent expansion of the Processing plant added a CIP circuit and second Ball Mill to the existing crushing, grinding, flotation and dewatering circuit. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Electrician to join our Maintenance team to provide effective and safe planned and preventative maintenance to a high-performing operation.
THE ROLE The primary purpose of the Electrical Supervisor is to mentor and supervise the electrical personnel in providing electrical maintenance for fixed plant, mine, and camp infrastructure, to safely achieve company targets in accordance with approved systems and processes.
This position is offered on an 8:6 FIFO basis from Perth. It provides the opportunity to join a dynamic and social team in a high-grade underground gold and copper operation.
Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be responsible for: Acting as the appointed In-House Electrical Installation Nominee. Ensuring all electrical equipment is maintained at a high level of availability. Sourcing information required to complete all assigned tasks/projects. Demonstrating a high level of knowledge for each section of the Processing plant (from crushing through to the end product), as well as the financial and target requirements of the department. Raising purchase orders for spares/parts in order to maintain plant/equipment on site. Liaising with Stores personnel on electrical purchasing, inventory matters and delivery timeframes, including any anticipated delays. Ensuring the electrical team have completed all shift log sheets, checklists, shift diaries and safety and environmental meetings are recorded. Ensuring the electrical team are accountable and conduct pre-starts at the beginning of each shift and that all electrical faults are reported in a timely manner. Being proactive in continuously reviewing and improving electrical standards and strategies. ABOUT YOU The successful candidate will possess the following: Minimum of 7 years post-trade qualifications within the mining environment. Strong leadership experience in leading crews through planned shutdowns and operational delays. S26 Electrical statutory appointment, experience or ability to obtain. Hold a current A Grade Electrical Workers License. Electrical Contractor (Nominee) qualifications highly desirable. Cert IV Instrumentation ticket is essential. Cert IV in Hazards Areas-Electrical highly regarded. WA Driver's License (manual C Class). Refrigeration and split system air-conditioning is desirable.
