One of Australia's largest electrical & communications contractors is looking to engage the services of an Electrical Engineer – Substation Design with experience in Substation and High Voltage Infrastructure Design.About YouTo be successful in this position, you will possess:Capability to thrive in a collaborative and inclusive team environment.A willingness to learn new skills, share your knowledge and mentor team members.Extensive experience in a similar role in the Energy/Electrical and/or Utilities IndustryComplete knowledge and application of current overhead and underground design philosophies, procedures, Australian standards and statutory requirements including Safety in Design.Demonstrated experience in utilising analytical skills and technical knowledge to provide appropriate solutions to technical/engineering issues.Key Responsibilities Will IncludeDelivering the design of large to medium scale high voltage infrastructure projects including the engineering of:System analysis and studiesEarthing systemsSubstation primary, protection and control systemsSecondary schematics and panel designLow Voltage AC and DC systemsUnderground and overhead collector systemsLeading electrical equipment specification and procurement activities, co-ordinating suppliers and subcontractorsUnderstanding your WHS responsibilities and actively promoting and supporting the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and othersProviding technical support to fellow Engineers and project teamsEnsuring all designs/documentation meet the relevant standards AS/IECProviding engineering support to project electrical works including engineering investigations, site inspections, compliance and problem-solving capabilitiesWhat We Are Looking ForAustralian recognised Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical)Proven experience in electrical infrastructure engineering design for HV substation projects, with a focus on primary system design (highly regarded)Working knowledge of ETAP, PSCAD and any other design software would be highly regardedAbility to carry out Arc Flash StudiesStrong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specificationsStrong attention to detail in the delivery of effective and high-quality designsStrong ability to mentor engineers to develop capabilitiesExcellent communication (written and verbal) skillsProof of right to work in Australia
