An exciting and rewarding opportunity currently exists to join our team.Position SummaryThe Project Engineer reports to the Manager, URD Design and is responsible for producing approved electrical designs for network reticulation systems in residential and industrial developments across Victoria.The Project Engineer will be part of a collaborative team responsible for producing electrical designs for new urban developments for the approval of the relevant electrical authority. Design services must be completed in accordance with both Victorian Electrical Supply Industry (VESI) standards and requirements, Australian Standards (AS) as well as in accordance with the agreed customer timeframe and budget.URD Design services cover both greenfield and brownfield development sites, for both residential and industrial/commercial estates. The Project Engineer owns the customers' technical solution and is responsible for high quality engineering consulting services and delivery of prompt and accurate construction designs.Proactive engagement with URD clients, distribution authority stakeholders, and other internal and external stakeholders is a must, in order to identify and resolve issues impacting design, and to ensure that client expectations are managed throughout the project lifecycle.Project Engineers are required to work in the office a minimum of three (3) days per week and foster teamwork and collaboration across the team's portfolio of projects. As a member of the URD Design team, you are required to lead by example and demonstrate the Powerplant values of People, Performance, and Pride in everything that you do.Key AccountabilitiesEnsure the successful delivery of customer-initiated projects from project initiation (design) through to commissioning, completion, and closeout.Manage the delivery of projects safely, within budget and to agreed timelines and quality.Provide the Customer with proactive communications and regular updates on project status, technical risks/issues, approvals, and network authority review/approval progress.Ensure our obligations to the customer are always defined, clear, and understood.Obtain design approval from the relevant distribution network authority.Assume responsibility for the technical solution for the life of the project, from acceptance of the Fee Proposal to design approval.Support pre-sales and project initiation activities.Define the scope of work and/or concept plan to ensure each project is initiated with the correct technical approach.Collaborate with the Engineering Services team to ensure design and drafting activities.Support the works management function within Powerplant including works processes, systems, resource requirements, and project methodologies.Proactively manage customers and stakeholders such as utilities, developers, consultants, and contractors.Perform project-related risk identification and mitigation plans.Demonstrate commitment to Powerplant's Business Values – People, Performance & Pride, and associated behaviors.Be instrumental in establishing, monitoring, reporting, and improving rates of compliance for completed works.Qualifications, Skills, Experience and AttributesDegree qualified in electrical engineering.Minimum 2 years of experience in developing electrical designs for distribution network authority approval, up to 22kV.Demonstrated experience in the use of electronic design systems including network GIS systems.A solid grasp of the project management discipline, capable of demonstrating the ability to simultaneously manage safety, scope, quality, schedule, and cost for a given project.Good stakeholder communication and management skills.Excellent interpersonal skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Well organized with effective time management skills.Self-motivated and the willingness to operate autonomously at times as well as a team leader.Reliable, accountable, and assertive in your support of the broader team outcomes.
