We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our team.
This role is instrumental in delivering electrical and instrumentation engineering for specific package areas within the project.
Working closely with the Engineering Manager and Area Manager, your contributions will be vital to ensuring the successful completion of assigned packages of work.
Your Responsibilities: Your key role objectives and responsibilities will include:
Demonstrating Safety and Environment Leadership by maintaining awareness of governing management plans, robust hazard identification, and management processes.
Oversight of the design process, ensuring the deployment of the Design Management Plan, resolution of engineering issues, and integration of design disciplines.
Participation in HSE document reviews and workshops.
Review, analysis, recommendations, and approval of low voltage distribution, drives, and control systems instrumentation calculations and design.
Coordinating technical specifications, tendering, procurement, contracting, and contract administration processes within assigned packages of work.
Planning and cost control within assigned packages of work, including input and reporting to the overall project planning and cost management.
Ensuring clarity around deliverables, relevant timing, and constraints for team members.
Oversight of the construction process by providing relevant design information to the construction team.
Planning and resourcing commissioning activities within assigned work packages.
Contributing to the project's success by ensuring interaction within assigned packages of work, maintaining relationships with key end-users and technical personnel, driving decision processes, and managing tasks to scope and budget.
What we seek;
Ideally, we seek an Electrical Engineering or similar, Tertiary qualification.
Experience managing small to medium design and construction projects or work packages in a heavy industrial environment.
Skilled at communicating appropriately targeted information within the project organization.
Strong problem-solving skills and objective thinking.
Desired Skills and Experience:
5+ years of experience managing engineering aspects of capital projects in heavy industry.
An understanding of steel industry manufacturing technology and instrumentation.
Professional registration in the discipline.
Experience in construction supervision and Burner Management Systems.
Heavy industrial manufacturing facilities and associated infrastructure.
Sufficiently broad understanding of engineering, construction, and commissioning.
Working knowledge of Capital Programs, Processes, and standards.
