Your role: Be an electrician in the Navy ensuring ships are kept in peak working order, by maintaining the electrical power, generation, and distribution systems. Whether you already have a trade, you're an apprentice, or you have no experience at all, you'll be paid from day one. As an Electrical Fitter (known in the Navy as Marine Technician – Electrical), you'll gain all the skills needed with extensive on-the-job trade training and get a Certificate III in Engineering – Electrical Fitting, with opportunities to obtain further qualifications (up to and including a Diploma). Salary: Upon completion of your initial military and employment training, you'll enjoy a salary package starting from $75,451 for surface fleet and $94,054 for submariners. Period of Service requirements: General Entry Sailor roles now have an Initial Minimum Period of Service (IMPS) between 2 and 3 years for all applicants. Fitness requirements: A Pre-entry Fitness Assessment (PFA) is no longer a requirement for Navy roles, except for Divers.
