An entry requirement for employment with the Australian Defence Force (ADF) is that you must be an Australian citizen. If you do not meet the citizenship conditions for service in the ADF, we are unable to accept an application from you. You are welcome to apply once you have completed your citizenship journey. Your role: Be an electrician in the Navy ensuring ships are kept in peak working order, by maintaining the electrical power, generation, and distribution systems. Whether you already have a trade, you're an apprentice, or you have no experience at all, you'll be paid from day one.
As an Electrical Fitter (known in the Navy as Marine Technician – Electrical), you'll gain all the skills needed with extensive on-the-job trade training and get a Certificate III in Engineering – Electrical Fitting, with opportunities to obtain further qualifications (up to and including a Diploma). You may also be able to use your existing qualifications and be eligible for recognition of prior learning.

Your role will be to maintain and operate the submarine's electrical systems, including hydraulic systems, refrigeration systems, and electrical power generation, storage and distribution.
Salary: Upon completion of your initial military and employment training, you'll enjoy a salary package starting from $75,451 for surface fleet and $94,054 for submariners.
