Project Overview: Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.
Job Summary: In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination.
Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
As the Electrical Field Engineer, you will provide leadership on Electrical & Instrumentation construction engineering work for the Project.
This is a FIFO role working 2:1 roster.
Major Responsibilities: Acting as point of contact for coordination and resolution of technical issues related to E&I contractors on site. Developing/reviewing work packages in support of the construction schedule. Prepares construction drawings and sketches. Initiates requisitions for field purchases. Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. Verifies installed commodities in the Project quantity tracking system. Other responsibilities as designated. Education and Experience Requirements: Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of electrical and/or instrumentation engineering and construction methods customarily acquired over time through specialized instruction or practical experience. Good knowledge in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other common applications used in the construction industry. Ability to problem-solve in high pressure situations. Demonstrated skills in oral and written communication. Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
