Job DescriptionThe Electrical Engineering Manager splits time as both an engineer and manager and provides supervision, direction, and individual design contribution for the Electrical, Firmware, and Electrical Technician engineering personnel. Ensures technical execution in the following areas: product specification, circuit design, circuit analysis, PCBA layout and technology, maintaining released designs, test architectures and programs, failure analysis of fielded products, and launch to manufacture of new products. Ensures project completion in a timely, efficient, and orderly manner in accordance with Sun Nuclear Corporation policies and procedures.Key Areas of Responsibility:Directs the technical work of the Electrical Engineering group.Implement, communicate and ensure compliance to the Sun Nuclear design controls process.Stay current with, and ensure compliance to, regulatory requirements required for medical device development.Ensure thorough technical review for schematics, PCBA layouts, cables, circuit analysis, test plans, firmware review and regression tests, risk assessments and technical documentation of final design.Evaluate concepts and technology for new products, proposing alternate system requirements as appropriate.Design electrical circuits which consist of analog, digital, communication and power supplies.Interface closely with mechanical engineering and physics departments, ensuring that cross functional collaboration is at an extremely high level.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering5+ years electrical engineering field in the development of embedded electromechanical systems3+ years of experience in engineering managementExperience working in quality system regulated engineering environment is required; medical device environment is preferred.Ability to influence from a technical standpoint across the engineering function and the business.Technical acumen in more than one of the following areas:Product specification and requirements documentationLow noise analog circuit designMicrocontroller based digital designFirmware design using C and FPGA design using VHDLEncoded stepper and DC motor control design
