The Role
Our Electrical team based across Sydney CBD and Paramatta require a motivated and passionate Electrical Engineer to join the team. The role of the Electrical Engineer presents a significant opportunity to align with our aspirational market position by adopting an Integrated Design approach that delivers outcomes in people, performance, and resilience. With a strong pipeline of upcoming projects with new and existing clients, you will be leading projects whilst supported by a close-knit management team. You will be client facing, with the autonomy of leading projects from concept to construction and technical job delivery – with the support to help you succeed.
Operating with an appropriate level of autonomy to deliver technically challenging projects, key components of this role include, but are not limited to:
Working closely with a diverse client base, responding efficiently to client's needs, including attendance at meetings and inspections.Provide technical delivery of a wide range of electrical projects including commercial buildings, residential developments, fit-out, aged care and educational facilities.Assist with project costings, monitoring project performance and budget ensuring that key dates are met and projects remain within budget.Provide mentorship to our graduates and undergraduates.Contribute to technical development across the electrical section.Develop skills in business development including preparation of proposals.The Candidate

Proven experience working as an electrical engineering consultant in the Australian market.Tertiary qualification in Engineering.Ideally CPEng certified or seeking to attain in the next 1-2 years.Client Excellence: Exemplary communication, problem solving mindset, design leadership, and the ability to influence at the design table.Multidisciplinary Expertise: A strong track record of operating effectively in multidisciplinary environments and driving a broad spectrum of outcomes.Relationship Building: The ability to maintain and nurture key client relationships.Work winning mentality: Demonstrated ability to consistently win work from key clients.Impact and Brand: The drive to make a difference, build a personal brand, and contribute to enhancing our organisational reputation.Experience of delivering projects across residential / health / education / commercial / industrial sectors.Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, PowerCAD, Agi32, Dialux.Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g. AS/NZS 3000, National Construction Code).Familiar with the applicable Australian and international standards for electrical installations.FPAS accreditation and working knowledge of Dry Fire systems is desirable.Experience working with Design and Building Practitioners Act desirable.Accountability to set goals and drive to their fulfilment.Familiar with financial management of projects internally is highly valued.What does working at Northrop look like to you?
