Role:
Based in the Sydney office and reporting to the Head of Engineering, you'll have the support of a team of project engineers as you build your reputation as the go-to expert for all matters related to electrical rotating equipment. Your focus will include power generators, gearboxes, and motors used across diverse applications—from marine and food & beverage manufacturing to heavy industry. Your expertise and contributions will be pivotal in enhancing and expanding the company's distinctive capabilities in rotating equipment solutions.
This high-visibility role involves close collaboration with senior stakeholders across the business, offering tangible commercial exposure and long-term career progression opportunities. The position demands a dynamic individual with robust technical expertise, excellent problem-solving and strong communication skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement and innovation as a valued senior member of the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities: Interpret and apply relevant standards across service centers. Conduct fault-finding electrical and mechanical tests on rotating equipment. Provide quality assurance inspections for overhauled rotating equipment. Troubleshoot issues with electromechanical rotating machines both in the service center and on-site. Perform root cause analysis of issues and recommend repairs and upgrades. Develop technical reports and proposals and assist with cost estimation. Support service centers with overhaul and asset maintenance projects. Assist the quality team with internal audits and prepare for external audits. Initiate and participate in the planning and development of engineering policies and procedures. Qualifications and Experiences: Relevant engineering qualifications (either electrical OR/AND mechanical) with previous experience working with electro-mechanical rotating equipment. Proven experience in conducting and facilitating Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with ability to travel locally and interstate (approximately 1-2 weeks a month). Excellent communication and time-management abilities. Prior experience or knowledge in machine diagnostics, including electrical testing and vibration analysis, is highly valued. A Grade Electrician Licence is highly regarded (but not essential).
