Australian Portable Camps is a leading Australian provider of innovative building solutions aimed to meet specific needs for mining, construction and oil & gas projects.
We are seeking an experienced and skilled electrical engineer to join our team in designing, manufacturing and installing temporary remote facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the design and installation package for the electrical infrastructure of these facilities, including power generation, mains power connections and site wide distribution. The role requires the candidate to be involved in the entire process from initial design to final installation and commissioning. The candidate must have a strong knowledge of Australian standards, and experience in electrical design on large-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities:Interpreting a scope of work and developing a comprehensive understanding of the electrical aspects of a projectElectrical design and calculations in low voltage power generation and distributionElectrical compliance with Australian standards and regulationsWork collaboratively with other engineers, trades and contractors to ensure the timely and efficient completion of projectsManage and oversee the installation and commissioning of the facilitiesProvide technical support and guidance to the on-site team as neededPresenting design documentation for client review and scrutinyAs-built drawings and compiling ongoing project documentationConduct site visits as required to assess project progress and provide input for improvementsPreparing and compiling quality assurance documentation and project handover documentationQualifications and Experience:5+ years of experience in designing and managing electrical infrastructure installationExperience and knowledge of Australian Standards and electrical regulationsExperience in remote mining facilities is a bonusCompetent computer skills in AutoCAD design software (Other electrical software skills advantageous)Experience in creating and interpreting technical drawings, calculations and reportsDemonstrated effective project management and communication skillsExtensive knowledge of construction and electrical quality systemsAbility to work under pressure and meet project deadlinesAbility to work collaboratively with others and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyWilling to work on a fly in fly out (FIFO) basis for some periods of timeIf you meet the requirements and are excited about the opportunity to work on challenging and rewarding projects, we encourage you to apply for this position.
