About the Role WorkPac is seeking experienced Electrical/Controls Engineers to join our client in Boyne Island for an industrial automation project in a brownfield environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in PLC5, ControlLogix, and related technologies, as well as a solid understanding of electrical design standards and contractor management.
Key Responsibilities Evaluate current PLC systems and create comprehensive scopes of work and budgets for upgrades to ControlLogix. Oversee and coordinate work packages for external contractors, ensuring adherence to BSL standards. Review and assess the quality and compliance of work completed by contractors. Support commissioning and integration of ControlLogix systems within a brownfield site. Ensure all panel designs align with AS3000 standards and other relevant electrical requirements. Work closely with cross-functional teams to facilitate seamless project execution. Offer technical leadership and guidance to contractors and project teams as needed. Skills & Experience Required Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field. Expertise in PLC5, ControlLogix, Panelview Optix, Python, and Ethernet networking. Extensive experience in PLC panel design with a strong understanding of AS3000 standards. Demonstrated success in managing external contractors and ensuring high-quality deliverables. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative approach to team projects. Experience in industrial or brownfield environments is highly desirable. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
