The Role HDR is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team in Melbourne. This position will be based out of our Melbourne Office and will work on projects across a range of markets, primarily the Mission Critical sector.
In the role of Electrical Engineer, we'll count on you to:
Undertake Electrical design deliverables such as calculations, reports, design and technical documentation.Develop the Electrical designs through proprietary programs such as Electrical Transient Analyzer Program (ETAP Version 20.0), Power Cad etc and generate reports such as: Load Flow, Fault Level Analysis Report, Electrical Coordination and Selectivity Analysis Report.Provide technical support to the senior engineers in order to deliver project deliverables, presentations, case studies and due diligence reports.Attend and actively participate during project presentations, team collaborations and client engagement.Attend project and site coordination meetings with Clients, consultants and contractors.Participate in Site Works as required.Maintain good design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction.Complete project deliverables, thereby meeting the client's brief and expectations.Consistently complete Electrical Design Services projects across the group within quality, budget, and programme expectations.Develop and maintain good relations with the various industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants and construction contractors relevant to the MEP team's activities.Assist and co-ordinate design activities, processes and other technical standards within the MEP and CSA services delivery.Undertake technical reviews of the project at appropriate stages to ensure that the project approach and deliverables are achieved.Actively participate in broader Office/Corporate activities as assigned or appropriate.Preferred Experience A minimum of 3 years relevant design experience.Mission Critical Design / Data Centre Design Experience is an added advantage.Previous experience within an engineering consulting company is desired.Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.Familiar and hands-on with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, Visio and Autocad.Familiar with Rhino / Grasshopper, and Electrical proprietary software such as ETAP, Vipcodia, Power Cad etc is an added advantage.Knowledge of consulting and successful project management experience in the MEP sector is an added advantage.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).Professional Engineer (PE) license.Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI and Easy Power.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.What We Believe
