AGL's Gas & Renewables team have an opportunity for an Electrical Engineer – Compliance. You will be working across a range of diverse assets including Wind, Solar, Battery, Hydro, and Gas Turbines.
Based in Melbourne, this role provides lead and coordination of technical and generator performance compliance for AGL Renewable sites. This includes single point communication with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO), the development of new generator performance standards, reporting of non-compliances as well as reporting on technical compliance status and supporting different parts of the business to achieve the compliance requirements. What you'll be doing: Supporting and chairing a weekly compliance meeting with various stakeholders to discuss the status of any current non-compliances as well as writing and occasionally verbally communicating with various regulatory bodies including AEMO and ESCOSA market operator and regulators. Playing a pivotal role in liaising with site based operational team members and engineering team members to develop solutions to resolve any reported non-compliances, meet technical standards and develop asset performance budgets. Ensuring compliance with relevant industry and environmental legislation and regulations. Collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to develop, implement, and maintain technical standards across gas & renewables assets. Developing and maintaining effective asset strategies and asset management plans that support the overall portfolio of generation assets and strategic and operational objectives. Supporting and chairing relevant monthly asset performance forum and generate asset performance reports for AGL engineering assets (Wind, Solar, Batteries and Gas Generation). What you'll bring: Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering. Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia, with capability of eventually becoming CPEng and registering for the National Engineering Register. Experience with compliance in power generation and renewable energy. High-quality written and verbal communication, with the ability to present and work with all levels of internal and external stakeholders. Understanding of the National Electricity Market and regulatory environment. Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as technical report writing skills with a high level of attention to detail. Applications close 27 November.
