Specifically electrically driven machinery. With bases all around the country, there are decades of experience and history of looking after all sorts of companies. Typically, within the Resources, Manufacturing, Power, and Water sectors – but also in other setups that use this scale of electrically powered machinery. It's about providing specialist help to get the most out of these crucial assets. Assets that cost plenty when they aren't working well or not working at all. There will be site-based work to be done – so travel will be a part of the role.The short story around the position:This role has come about as a result of business growth, and the winning of new contracts, both with existing and new clients. Ideally, we are looking for someone who has some sort of understanding of how things like Transformers, Rotating Machines, and Generators are put together and work. So when it comes to maintaining them, there is a technical foundation to problem-solving the solutions. You will be working with a skilled R&D department and will need to be able to be that connection between them and the client. It's a department that will be an extra element to your ability to prescribe solutions and formulate plans, ideally based on a true understanding of how the machines were put together in the first place.There is a lot more than just the technical perspectives involved when it comes to the management of this type of machinery. It's engaging with all the relevant stakeholders to get the right outcomes, such as liaising with client's senior management, training engineers, and brainstorming with the R&D team. So, it's not just about the technical side; it's also understanding the unique commercial realities and educating in a way that your message can be received and acted on.
