Job Summary:In this role, you will plan, develop, and review electrical engineering design work, produce drawings and documentation, and prepare design estimates for a project. You will coordinate with clients, facilitate technical discussions, and review key electrical drawings, calculations, and bid summaries, solving complex technical issues and ensuring electrical designs comply with all regulations and standards.
Major Responsibilities:Develops designs for complete and complex Electrical engineering systems such as 3D models, single line diagrams, schematics, block diagrams, general arrangements, layouts (equipment, earthing, cable routing, lighting), and installation details.Ensures Electrical system designs comply with all applicable installation codes, regulations, and standards.Working with electrical engineering team, assists with the preparation of assigned material and service requisitions, including electrical material take-offs / quantities.Monitors and checks work for compliance with approved Electrical design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation and construction economy.Coordinates design with other disciplines, utilizing an intelligent multi-discipline 3D modelling environment.Other responsibilities as designated.Education and Experience Requirements:9 - 12 years of relevant work experience.Required Knowledge and Skills:Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards, design criteria, guides & procedures and codes relevant to the electrical discipline.Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidiscipline team for EPC/EPCM projects.Proficient in electrical discipline with the ability to resolve a wide range of issues.Experience in the instrumentation discipline will be highly regarded.Extensive Microstation and/or AutoCAD as well as 3D modelling skills are essential.Supplemental experience in SmartPlant 3D, Tekla, 3D Lighting design, SmartPlant Electrical and SmartPlant Instrumentation will be highly regarded.Advanced knowledge of electrical and instrumentation design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
