Job DescriptionBe an active team member in the Electrical Design Engineering team with the following key responsibilities:
Delivers on engineering design, design change and resolution of technical issues.Design improvements for maintenance, modification, overhauls, and fleet modification projects for rolling stock.Preparation and production of high-quality technical electrical design deliverables across both functional and physical design elements, derived from scope requirements and high-level Engineering design.Prepare electrical production drawings which include system block diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, 3D panel assemblies, installation, and wiring harness drawings.Complete engineering documentation and quality assurance activities to ensure designs are fit for purpose and meet applicable customer and regulatory requirements.Playing a positive role in supporting the organisational culture of flexibility and comradery while pushing continuous improvement initiatives to ensure improving organisational performance.Explores alternative and creative solutions to meeting the needs of the customer.Delivers to customer expectations and service standards, in the areas of timeliness, information transfer, availability, and reliability.Required Experience: Proven experience with 3D modelling & drafting (Electrical only).Proven experience with life cycle extension, wiring harness design, upgrades, circuit designs, overhauls, refurbishment for existing products or brownfield projects.Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex design components to all levels of the business.Highly Desirable: Knowledge and understanding of rolling stock related industry are highly regarded.Software Skills: Siemens NX or CATIA (Electrical package) is desirable.Ideally strong knowledge of AutoCAD (Electrical package experience or Elecdes).Experience with Team Centre.QualificationsBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or relevant tertiary qualification with extensive rolling stock or alternative energy experience.CPEng or relevant membership to engineering body highly regarded.Master's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent will be highly regarded.Additional InformationThis position would be preferably based in Brisbane QLD or New South Wales.
