We are recruiting an Electrical Coordinator for the Carmichael Mine, which is a 10mtpa coal mine located north-west of Clermont in central Queensland.
ABOUT THE ROLE We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Coordinator to join our dynamic team.
In this critical role, you will work closely with the Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) to strengthen site-wide electrical capabilities while ensuring safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.
As the Electrical Coordinator, you will contribute to a range of electrical activities, including maintenance, capital projects, system upgrades, and modifications of electrical power systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
The position will be based on site working an 8/6 roster.
Key Responsibilities: Act as a delegate for the Electrical Engineering Manager, supporting assigned duties.
Review and assess Scopes of Work, Electrical Designs, and Detailed Design Drawings for projects, upgrades and system modifications.
Coordinate engineering designs and installations for earthing installations and lightning protection systems.
Oversee and ensure compliance for the Annual Site Statutory Earthing and Protection Relay Testing, including verification for any defect rectification works.
Maintain and update test records and drawings for all electrical installations.
Inspect and verify new installations, including compliance walkdowns, punch lists, and test documentation, before energisation approvals.
Research and evaluate modern safety technologies and present findings to the EEM.
Conduct safety and compliance audits to meet the requirements of the Coal Mine Safety & Health Act, Regulations, and Site Electrical Standards.
Participate in reviews and updates for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments, and Site Electrical Specifications and Standards.

Other qualifications and attributes required include: A Current QLD Electrical Workers Licence is required.
Surface Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) qualifications with competencies recognised by the Coal Mining Safety and Health Advisory Committee.
Completion of S1, S2, S3 and G2 Supervisor Competencies.
Experience with power generators, earthing installations, and lightning protection systems (highly regarded).
Strong knowledge of electrical infrastructure projects with a focus on being fit for purpose, safety and compliance.
Previous experience completing projects and maintenance activities within a CHPP (highly regarded).
Familiarity with the Coal Mine Safety & Health Act and Regulations, including conducting safety and compliance audits.
Proven ability to manage and deliver complex projects within deadlines and budget constraints.
Exceptional attention to detail when reviewing designs, technical drawings, and project documentation.
Excellent communication and coordination abilities to build strong working relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
A proactive mindset and adaptability to evolving project requirements.
