We are seeking a dedicated Electorate Officer to support Mr David Kempton Member for Cook and engage with our vibrant community in our Cairns Office!Your primary objectives will be to:Provide direct secretarial, executive and administrative support to Mr Kempton MPSupport and engage with constituents and community groupsGeneral administration of the daily operations of the electorate officeYour duties and responsibilities as an Electorate Officer will see you provide:Executive Support: Managing the Member's diary, appointments, meetings, and stakeholder coordination; preparing briefing notes and conducting research.Media Management: Monitoring media and community issues, handling media requests.Travel Coordination: Coordinating travel, managing travel claims, and maintaining accurate records and data entry of expenses.Community Engagement: Managing enquiries from constituents and community groups, providing information on public services and policies, developing community networks, conducting research on constituent issues, and coordinating community meetings and events.Your key strengths will be:Previous experience in a parliamentary or local government office is advantageousStrong organisational and time management skillsAdvanced written and oral communication skillsStrong leadership and team motivation skillsStrong interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse groupsGood knowledge of Queensland political and current affairs or willingness to learnHow to apply:Applications should include a cover letter (no more than 2 pages) and resume and be submitted through the Smart Jobs website.
