The Team
The AEC Northern Territory State Office located in Darwin compromises several staff at the operational and executive level.
The State Office oversees and is responsible for operations and representing the AEC at the local level in both Northern Territory divisions – Solomon and Lingiari.
A significant number of Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse voters reside in Northern Territory divisions, particularly in the Division of Lingiari noting the importance of delivering appropriate services to these voters.
The Opportunity
The Electoral Service Officer performs a range of important administrative duties focused on maintaining the electoral roll and delivering electoral events.
The role performs a customer service function at all stages of the electoral cycle, meeting the needs of members of the public via a range of channels, including in-person at the Divisional Office.
You will be responsible for answering enrolment enquiries, assisting electors to enrol or update their enrolment details, processing standard to complex enrolment applications and key reporting activities to maintain electoral roll integrity.
The Electoral Service Officer will contribute to the planning and delivery of electoral events at the divisional level and is required to supervise a small team and provide training to support the delivery of planned activities.
