Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar School is an Anglican day school strongly committed to single sex education for girls. Catering for students from Early Learning Centre (Three Year Old), Ivanhoe Girls' Grammar School seeks to provide excellence in education within a caring Christian community and to prepare young women for a personally and professionally fulfilling life.
Our Early Learning Centre (ELC) provides a nurturing, warm and welcoming environment for children and their families to feel safe and secure. It is through this sense of security that children are able to develop the courage and confidence to challenge themselves to take risks, which in turn builds their resilience and self-esteem. Strong relationships form the foundation on which our philosophy is established. We believe children's learning and positive brain development is enhanced through social connection and supportive networks that encourage and support the child's curiosity, intellect and emotional, physical and social development. The children in the ELC are encouraged to be inquisitive, problem solve and take an active role in their learning. We encourage children to be reflective and express their thoughts, ideas and feelings through the 'hundred languages' as embodied in the Reggio Emilia approach.
