EL 2 Project Manager - Defence Service Homes InsuranceEstablished pursuant to the Defence Service Homes Act 1918, DSH Insurance was established to provide home building insurance to protect the homes of men and women returning from WWI who obtained subsidised housing loans.
From 1 January 2020 eligibility to access DSH Insurance was expanded to include all current and former members of the ADF with at least one day of service.
This includes Reservists, Peacekeepers, and widows/widowers of those ADF members.
There are some 46,000 building policies across Australia.
The Scheme is fully self-funded from premium income and operates very much like any other commercial general insurance provider.
The strategic reform project of DSH Insurance is a complex project involving all elements of the Scheme to enhance the ongoing financial viability of the DSH Insurance Scheme.
This role will be accountable for working with the DSH Insurance National Manager to deliver legislative and Insurance Partner reforms.
The project will also involve working closely with internal DVA business areas, collaborating with the DSH Insurance leadership team and various external commercial stakeholders, to deliver project outcomes.

Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months.
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
