The Program Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing Information Technology (IT) projects from a business perspective across the Department.This position plays a critical role in aligning IT initiatives with the Department's strategic objectives, ensuring that projects are delivered effectively and efficiently while adhering to established policies and frameworks, including cloud strategy and automation frameworks.The role requires knowledge of the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) data and architecture strategies, and the Australian Signals Directorate's (ASD) blueprint for secure cloud, to ensure projects align with national standards for data security and architecture. The key duties of the position include: Strategic Leadership - lead the development and implementation of IT projects, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy and departmental roadmap, collaborate with senior management to define project priorities and resource allocation, ensuring that IT initiatives support business objectives.Project Oversight - oversee the planning, execution and delivery of IT projects, ensuring they meet business requirements, timelines and budget constraints, monitor project performance and provide regular updates to stakeholders, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.Policy and Framework Implementation - ensure that all IT projects comply with departmental policies, including cloud strategy, advocate for best practice in project management and IT governance, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.Stakeholder Engagement - build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle, act as a key point of contact for senior executives regarding IT project status.Please review the job pack for the full position description.
