A New Role Awaits
We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative Domain Owner to join at the EL2 Director level within our Service Design and Improvement Branch.
The Branch is within the Service Design division which is the key driver of the Participant Service Improvement Plan and the Participant Service Charter.
The division's work is to design and deliver Scheme service improvements to provide quality participant outcomes and enhance their NDIS experience.
This experience-design work also aims to improve how agency's frontline Service Delivery (SD) operates.
The branch works with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create and implement solutions that simplify processes, improve timelines and the quality of outcomes for participants.
The branch designs the elements that deliver the strategic vision of the NDIS Pathway.
It works to improve the consistency and equity of NDIA decisions and ensures the Scheme is aligned with insurance principles for future sustainability.
The squads design changes to the processes within the participant journey, which support participants in achieving their goals and improves the participant experience with all elements of the Scheme.
You will have the ability to navigate complexity and uncertainty with personal drive, sound judgement and integrity.
Your ability to exercise a significant degree of independence and high-level of decision-making and judgement will inspire your team members to strive for the best outcomes.
An ability to negotiate and communicate with influence will serve you well in this role.
Your outstanding communication and interpersonal skills will be key in initiating, establishing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You will have a positive contemporary attitude to people with disability along with a high level of understanding and knowledge of disability and its impact on individuals.
The key duties of the position include: As the EL2 Domain Owner you will lead a multi-disciplinary, agile design team including a Scrum Master, Business Analysts, Service and Process Designers, Design & Build Leads and Project Officers.
With your previous experience and knowledge, you will apply a significant understanding of the Service Design & Improvement functions to provide high level of advice to senior management, Strategic Leadership Team and the NDIA Board.
The role will be required to coordinate and assume responsibility for highly complex or sensitive projects and work program outcomes across the functions that have strategic or operational significance to the NDIA.
Functions of the role include communicating and producing documentation contributing to the development of the Domain Ownership function across strategic programs.
You will collaborate with other areas of the organisation on the successful delivery of the Domain, ensuring it is fit-for-purpose for both participants and internal end users.
Eligibility Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
Failure to do so may jeopardise your offer of employment.
Dependent on the role the appropriate Working with Children / Working with Vulnerable People check may be required as per State/Territory legislation.
In addition to these checks, a Worker Screening Check issued by the relevant State/Territory worker screening unit will also be required for any role for which the normal duties are likely to require more than incidental contact with people with disability.
Notes This position will be offered as ongoing or non-ongoing.
If the position is offered as non-ongoing, this will be for a specified term of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension up to two years.
Should a non-ongoing position become ongoing, then a merit list established through this selection process may be used to fill the vacancy on an ongoing basis.

The NDIS also connects anyone with disability to services in their community.
This includes connections to doctors, community groups, sporting clubs, support groups, libraries and schools, as well as providing information about what support is provided by each state and territory government.
The NDIS now supports over 500,000 Australians with disability to access the services and supports they need.
This includes supporting approximately 80,000 children with developmental delay, ensuring they receive supports early so that they achieve the best outcomes throughout their lives.
