El 2 - Director, Therapies Research

The role of the Therapies Research Team is to provide assessments of the benefits, cost-effectiveness and safety of specific therapies for people with disability, drawing on published literature including clinical and academic studies and reviews. It will also conduct analysis to identify gaps in therapy-related research and provide advice to government on a range of other matters relating to the evidence base for future disability policy.
The team will work closely with the Assistive Technology Research team in the Disability Evidence Branch, other colleagues in the Department of Social Services, external experts, and other stakeholders to strengthen the linkages between research, policy and service delivery for people with disability.
The Director, Therapies Research will build this new team, contribute to the development of the forward workplan for the Disability Evidence Branch, and lead the team to deliver against the workplan ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, departmental policies and budget.
This role is ongoing but may suit an experienced research professional interested in a career break. As such, the role could be offered as non-ongoing.
