EL 2 - Director of Information and Data Governance - Air Force$134,567 - $161,521 + up to 15.4% SuperannuationRussell - ACTThe RoleThe Director of Information and Data Governance – Air Force is responsible for managing a range of information and data governance, policy, education, communications, planning, and compliance outcomes for Air Force.
As part of Air Force Headquarters, the Director ensures Air Force meets its information management obligations, meets Defence information and data objectives, and shapes the strategic direction and positioning of Air Force in the information age.
This role:Leads the modernisation of Air Force's information policy and governance, particularly in the data domain;Champions and drives improvement in Air Force effectively managing its records;Assists Air Force's leadership in implementing their components of the Defence's Transformation Strategy and the Data Strategy;Coordinates Air Force's information risks and effectively communicates these to multiple levels of the organisation;Represents the interests of Air Force through a variety of boards, committees, and working groups.About our TeamSituated within Air Force Headquarters, the Directorate of Information and Data Governance – Air Force (DIDG-AF) is charged with enabling Air Force to manage and use its information assets to support timely and effective decisions.
To achieve this, DIDG-AF has two teams providing an array of information and data governance, policy, education, and compliance capabilities:Information Management – Air Force's (IM-AF) purpose is to manage Air Force's governance functions for information management.
The IM-AF team ensures information management policies and procedures are current, align with broader Defence policies and legislation, are understood across Air Force, and are implemented effectively.Data Policy & Strategy's (DPS-AF) purpose is to mature and manage Air Force's governance functions for data management.
The DPS-AF team ensures data management policies and procedures are current, align with broader Defence policies and legislation, data quality and standards across AF, and support the maturation of AF's data-informed decision making.Our Ideal CandidateYou will be an experienced leader with a strong background in strategically positioning organisations to meet contemporary demands and adopt new practices and technologies.
