The Role We are looking for experienced Media & Communications Directors to join the Nuclear-Powered Submarine Regulatory Design (NPSRD) team. Both positions will work with the Director General Engagement and Culture to develop and deliver a National Engagement Strategy, in support of the activities of the Australian Naval Nuclear Power Safety Regulator. As a Director within the Engagement and Culture Division, you will provide a strategic level of specialist, professional and technical expertise, potentially relating to the work of different function areas. You will initiate, establish and maintain strong relationships with a network of internal and external stakeholders and provide strategic advice to senior management. You will be responsible for leading and assuming accountability for complex work and work programs that have strategic, political and operational significance. You will require extensive knowledge relating to the methodology, systems and procedures within the communications and media functions and have the ability to translate this into deliverable strategies. The following provides an overview of each role:Director Communications

Develop and implement the internal and external communications strategies and collaborate on organisational-wide communications outputs.
Provide high-level, strategic, and timely information and advice to senior leaders and support engagement with primary external stakeholders including First Nations communities, all levels of Government and international partners and industry and community stakeholders.
The role will work closely with the Leadership Team to ensure the development of external messaging aligns with organisational objectives.
Identify communication risks and opportunities to maintain and promote NPSRD/Defence's reputation and interests in line with communication priorities.
Develop the associated communications presentations, plans and products, including event management activities as required.

Director Media

Develop media and content strategies, managing news media and digital media platforms, including social media and website.
Serve as the primary media liaison and establish and maintain strong relationships with relevant media and opinion leaders.
Deliver media products, including media releases, talking points, fact sheets, and digital content for website and social media.
Proactively identify story opportunities and develop content to be used across various media channels.
Manage media events including preparation of spokespeople and escorting, facilitate media briefings and conferences.
Effectively identify, mitigate and manage media issues and provide timely information and advice to senior leadership team on emerging issues.
