$115,899 - $130,733 + up to 15.4% Superannuation Nowra - NSW The Role The Senior Psychologist is responsible for managing a team of APS and uniformed Navy Psychologists and Psychology Assistants.
The Navy Psychology Section provides psychological support to the RAN uniformed workforce and contributes directly to Navy's capability and national security.
Navy Psychology strengthens the Navy workforce by delivering best-practice resilience, organisational and mental health programs and by working with Navy leadership to optimise members' performance.
The services delivered by a Navy Psychology Section include providing stakeholder advice and liaison, referrals from Command for advice, brief self-referrals from Navy members for work-related support, mental health training development and delivery, operational mental health screening, critical incident mental health support and organisational interventions.
The delivery and provision of psychology services as well as the capacity to manage uniformed and APS psychologists providing the same service is an integral part of the role.
About our Team The Navy Psychology Albatross team provides the full scope of Navy Psychology Services to HMAS Albatross, located on Nowra Hill, amongst the conservation areas south of Nowra.
Nowra Hill is conveniently located between Canberra and Sydney and close to bayside town of Jervis Bay.
Our Albatross team works together to achieve a high standard of psychology service provision, liaising regularly with command elements, health providers and other wellbeing stakeholders.
We consist of three APS psychologists and one APS psychology assistant, as well as a number of uniformed reserve psychologists.
Our focus at Albatross is Navy aviation and human performance in training.
We work closely with trainees within both the Royal Australian Naval College and our trainee pilots undertaking a range of flight training courses.

A Senior Psychologist will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role.
They will exercise sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice and support to more junior psychologists.
A teamwork focused, dynamic and supportive Senior Psychologist, who can work within a supportive team would be ideal for the role.
