Opportunity available for an experienced data analyst (Python) to work in a client-facing role, providing data solutions to a broad range of clients across the public sector with a focus on climate and energy. An 18-month non-ongoing position at the EL1 level, the role will work with some of the best energy transition experts in the public sector. You will be the project lead for the management of a national database tracking power generation projects across Australia. You will engage directly with clients to solve their data-related queries, provide them with the right data they need to solve their problems, advise them on the data limitations, and guide them to the right outcomes. You have a team around you with strong Python skills, so you don't need to be the Python expert. However, you will need to be able to independently run analysis on your own, reaching out for help where required and being willing to learn from your team to enhance your Python skills. Why would you want this role? To be part of a big team of smart people working on really exciting work! The energy transition is critical for our future, and this role will see you performing an important role in the measurement of progression as it comes onto the grid.So the work is interesting, the team is great, and the role can be done fully remotely. What are we looking for? Prior experience in a client-facing role is key, as are your skills in data analysis using Python. It would also be great if you come from a background in energy, but in the absence of that, any technical background transitions well—engineering, environmental, climate—and if you happen to have an advanced knowledge of R instead of Python, then we can also work with that.Non-negotiables are Australian citizenship, and you must have a baseline clearance. Please apply now - they are keen to meet people ASAP, so your application will be assessed quickly.
