$115,899 - $130,733 + up to 15.4% Superannuation Edinburgh - SA The Role The RF Sensing and Electromagnetic Warfare (RFSEW) Branch in Edinburgh is looking for an enthusiastic person with an interest in leading a team of software engineers to develop real-time demonstration systems for radar research.
RFSEW Branch undertakes world leading research into passive and active radar systems, and collaborates with organisations around the world in performing this research.
You will develop software solutions to challenging problems in radar systems, working with a team to design and develop software to demonstrate system performance and survivability of passive radar systems.
As the ideal candidate, your passion to lead a team of developers and your desire to innovate will contribute directly to programs within the Australian Defence Force to improve their capabilities in radar surveillance.
You will have the opportunity to think critically and work in collaboration with ADF personnel, academia and industry.
You will have access to world class radar research facilities onsite in Edinburgh to assist you in your research and development.
Under guidance, duties of the Radar Signal Processing Implementation Lead will include: Lead and manage the translation of novel algorithms into the passive radar real-time demonstrator system.
Lead the agile development process, collaboratively gathering requirements from the product owner, coordinating of the team of software engineers to develop robust and well-tested solutions for the product owner.
Develop and maintain experimental radar systems using technologies such as C++, CUDA and MATLAB Field trials of radar systems, data analysis, and documentation of outcomes for military clients.
Collaborative work with team members from DSTG, industry and academia to develop novel radar systems.
About our Team Sensors and Effectors leads the impetus for innovation within Australian force operations by providing science and technology advice about equipment, personnel and processes.
The RF Sensing and Electromagnetic Warfare (RFSEW) Major Science and Technology Capability (MSTC) within DST Group's Sensors and Effectors Division (SED) drives the application of science and technology to solve problems and deliver solutions for the Australian Government and the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and improve their capabilities in radar surveillance.
One of the key roles of the Resilient Radar Systems team is conduct to develop and demonstrate resilient radar technologies and systems, including Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar, passive radar, multi-static and multi-function RF capabilities.
