$115,899 - $130,733 (pro-rata for part-time vacancies) + up to 15.4% Superannuation Russell - ACT The Role The Quality Assurance Unit assures the quality of all ministerial advice and correspondence provided by Defence to the Deputy Prime Minister.
An interesting and varied role that provides a unique insight into the diverse range of functions Defence undertakes.
As part of the Quality Assurance Unit, you will apply excellent written communication and editing skills, attention to detail, sound judgement to review and edit written ministerial advice and correspondence provided by Defence to the Deputy Prime Minister's office via the Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS).
In this role, you will be required to: Review, edit and quality assure a range of ministerial submissions, briefs and correspondence; Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to achieve editorial outcomes; Resolve editorial issues using pragmatism, expertise and teamwork; Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and stakeholders across Defence; and Be a team coach or lead a team, and be accountable to set work priorities and manage workflows.
About our Team The Quality Assurance Unit is a small Canberra-based team within Strategic Priorities Branch, Governance Group.
The team works on both the Defence Protected Network and Defence Secret Network.
Our Ideal Candidate Our ideal candidate will have editorial, journalistic, public relations or publishing experience, with exemplary written communication skills, an eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.
They will ensure that written content adheres to style guides and templates, as well as rules for spelling, grammar and punctuation.
They will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy, accountability and flexibility.
They will use initiative and judgement to apply practices and procedures consistent with Defence requirements.
They will also actively manage key stakeholder relationships, and identify stakeholders' expectations and concerns to develop and communicate methodologies and practices to achieve outcomes.
