The Role Assistant Directors in AGO's Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) Capability Delivery (GCD) branch lead our multidisciplinary project teams who are designing and delivering mission-critical, cutting-edge systems that contribute directly to Defence's success and the nation's security. You will use your technical expertise and understanding of Government, Defence, and National Intelligence community capability life cycles to steward your project teams to successfully deliver their projects.
GCD needs skilled, enthusiastic and self-motivated Assistant Directors who can:
Lead our workforce through the challenges of management and delivery of complex, mission-critical GEOINT systems projects; Establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships with our stakeholders, including our international partners; Identify, report and treat project risk; Support strategic decision-makers by preparing high-quality project reporting, briefs and presentations; Develop, grow and maintain our technical and support workforce; Respond to tasking from GCD Directors supporting the governance and management of the branch. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability. About our Team Australian Geospatial-Intelligence Organisation (AGO) is responsible for the delivery of cutting-edge capability, which supports the Australian Defence Force, the National Intelligence Community (NIC), and other areas of government.
This is done in AGO's GEOINT Capability Delivery branch (GCD). This branch has project managers, support officers, systems engineers, ICT security specialists, systems architects, business analysts, finance specialists, contracting and procurement officers who work together, and with customers, to design, build and sustain GEOINT capability.
