This highly regarded cultural institution's purpose is to commemorate the sacrifice of those Australians who have died in war or on operational service and those who have served our nation in times of conflict. It's mission is to lead remembrance and understanding of Australia's wartime experience.
They are currently undertaking a major development from 2019-2027 that will significantly increase exhibition and public program space in order to more substantially tell the stories of current and recent conflicts, operations, peacekeeping, and humanitarian missions. Working on this exciting project is an opportunity to be involved in a world class museum development at Australia's number one tourist destination.
Your new role

The Gallery Development Team has responsibility for the development and management of the permanent gallery development.
Responsibilities
Assist the project management and documentation coordination in the planning, development and implementation/ delivery of exhibitions, including: manage aspects of the preparation of exhibition procurement documentation, including, design and production/fabrication/construction documents through the remaining production stage of the project; contribute to the planning and implementation of the installation phase manage the procurement of goods and services as they relate to the exhibition program including the development and management of contracts; manage and coordinate meetings and prepare and distribute agendas and minutes; manage the establishment and monitoring of exhibition schedules and budgets Establish and maintain productive working relationships with Memorial staff, exhibition stakeholders, designers and external production consultants. Contribute to the preparation of reports and recommendations. Reporting to the Director Gallery Development, work under direction on strategic planning Stakeholder Engagement activities, travel planning and reporting. Provide leadership, guidance and supervision to a small team of exhibition staff including monitoring and assist with prioritising the work of the team against the agreed scope of work while fostering team development. Review, identify opportunities and implement improved working practices to reflect the changing environment of the project moving from design to delivery. Tracking and reporting against Gallery Development budgets. Interact with the Precinct (Construction) team members of the Development Project as required. Work under a broad direction exercising a degree of independence and make decisions that may have a medium level of impact on the direct work area and the broader Development Project. What you'll need to succeed Demonstrated expertise and experience in managing the design, production and delivery of major projects. Strong communication and negotiation skills with the proven ability to manage teams of professional staff and contractors to ensure the effective management of complex creative projects. Demonstrated project management skills and experience in managing time, cost, quality, resources and risk associated with Museum projects. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills in order to effectively draft tender documentation, and to manage tender processes with internal and external stakeholders.
