$115,899 - $130,733 + 10% BDCP + up to 15.4% Superannuation Williamtown - NSW The Role Located at the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) Base Williamtown in Newcastle region, the Air Warfare Systems Program Office (AWSPO) leads and manages a portfolio of highly complex projects and products in support of Air Force and Navy capability. AWSPO, in partnership with industry, deliver the Lead-in-Fighter Training System, Advanced Training and Test Environment and Special Operations Air Warfare Capabilities in support of Air Combat Group, Air Warfare Centre and Maritime Warfare Centre. As an EL1 Project Manager, you will have an essential role in delivering these projects and products to improve Defence's capability. In this role, you will have the opportunity to further develop your project management skills. Professionalisation is a key focus within Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) and accredited training will be provided as part of the role. The roles involve achieving project or product management outcomes and managing a diverse team of Air Force, Australian Public Service and contract personnel. Project and Product Managers manage teams and monitor performance to achieve SPO outcomes. The roles provide advice and support to the Executive and contribute to delivering organisational outcomes. This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP). This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.Note: This position will be required to access US export controlled materiel and therefore applicants will be requested to disclose and dual citizenship with another country during the recruitment process. Within Aerospace Systems Division, AWSPO leads and manages a portfolio of projects and products in support of Air Force and Navy capability. This includes the management of acquisition projects in various phases of the capability life cycle including the AIR5438 Phase 2 Lead-In Fighter Capability Upgrade program. AWSPO, in partnership with industry, also manage three sustainment products: the 127 Hawk Lead-In Fighter, which supports air combat operations through aircraft and off-aircraft systems, delivering aircrew introductory fighter training; Advanced Training and Test Environment (ATTE), which improves Air Force and Navy lethality and survivability through the delivery of a threat representative training environment; and the Special Operations Air Warfare Program, supporting through the coordination, provisioning and sustainment of combat equipment.
