OUR OPPORTUNITY The Financial Management Branch is responsible for managing relationships with external departments, agencies, and organizations while providing strategic financial services.
The Financial Operations Directorate ensures a high-quality financial environment through robust governance and processes, delivering accounts payable and receivable, treasury management, financial systems administration, travel, and purchase card management.
POSITION The Project Manager, Financial Systems will lead and manage a team focused on Financial Management Information Systems.
This role is crucial for the development and transformation project, requiring collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
The successful applicant will supervise the Financial Systems Team and provide strategic and technical advice on financial systems, playing an integral part in implementing a new Financial Management Information System in 2025.
DUTIES In accordance with workplace diversity, health and safety principles, participative work practices, and relevant values: Project manage the design and implementation of a new Financial Management Information System.
Manage systems, including configuration changes, user access maintenance, help desk inquiries, training new users, and system testing.
Code and run ad hoc SQL queries for data analysis and reporting, developing dashboards for senior leadership.
Oversee the data migration process and master data management.
Lead, supervise, and develop a small team.
Provide expertise and technical knowledge in financial systems.
Ensure ongoing development, implementation, performance, and quality assurance of financial management systems.
Build rapport and maintain internal and external relationships, responding to inquiries and providing assistance in a timely manner.
Manage prioritization of workloads for the team, ensuring completion of tasks to agreed timeframes and standards, while conducting quality assurance reviews.
Prepare and approve end-of-month processes.
ELIGIBILITY Applicants must be Australian citizens.
5+ years of demonstrated experience in Financial Management Information Systems.
DESIRABLE Experience with Expense8.
3+ years of proven experience in team leadership.
Diploma or degree qualifications in information systems or vocational certification in relevant frameworks or technologies (e.g., ITIL, COBIT, Agile Project Management, Saa S systems, SQL).
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
High-level written communication skills for developing documentation and training materials.
