El1 Management Accountant - Finance Business Partner

Liaison driven role
Internal budgeting/reporting focus
Commercial organisation with retail, events and other revenues

The Organisation:

Bespoke, centrally located Federal Government Department with a range of revenue streams.

The Role:

You will be working as part of a management accounting team which strives to achieve strong partnerships with the Department's business lines. At the EL1 level you are a direct conduit between the CFO unit and line areas. Your role is to drive cohesion and support the line areas with all aspects of finance. This includes:

Management of divisions' budgets and forecasts
Provide financial reporting, variance analysis and face-to-face meetings with divisional clients
Manage and perform end of monthly financial tasks (e.g. journals, accruals.)
Financial support project managers with the delivery of their projects

This will be offered as a contract initially for 24 months with the potential that this role will become permanent in the future. This role will also be supporting the external budget area, therefore experience from an external budget role will be very beneficial to you in this role.

Your Skills and Experience:

You have worked in a management accounting role at the EL1 level previously. You must be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to develop business relationships.

You must be an Australian Citizen with a baseline clearance to be considered for this role. The client is happy to look at people joining the APS from the private sector.
