El 1 Legal Policy Officer

The Role Are you an experienced Legal Officer looking for your next challenging role to start in January 2025? Are you based in Canberra and have a clearance? Do you have strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills?
If you answered yes to these questions, this just might be the role for you.
Duties: Driving legislative reform of the model WHS Act. Developing policy, guidance material, reports, and processes for areas relating to the WHS framework. Preparing key documents including briefs, speeches, and policy papers to a high quality. Consulting with expert groups and a range of stakeholders. Managing employees including coaching, providing regular performance feedback, addressing underperformance, conflict resolution, and encouraging career development. Legal policy experience or a degree in law or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
