The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare.

A new role awaits Are you ready to utilise your outstanding leadership skills to lead a team of investigators to represent and negotiate on behalf of the NDIA to advance the NDIA's and taskforces interests across a range of forums.We have a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for an Assistant Director to join the Fraud Investigations branch within NDIA's Integrity Transformation and Fraud Fusion Taskforce Group.The Fraud Investigations Branch detects and responds to internal and external payment fraud against the Scheme.
The branch focus is on protecting the Scheme's financial sustainability, strengthening fraud control arrangements and supporting the Fraud Fusion Taskforce to strengthen the Commonwealth's fraud detection and response capability.

As an Assistant Director, you will provide leadership, end to end case management, control, planning, resource management, performance management and decision making for team members working within the work area.Responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:-• Leading a team responsible for delivering the Fraud Fusion Taskforces integrity and investigation objectives, with a focus on partnership, support and integrity outcomes across the Agency's divisions, branches and sites.• End to end Case Management and active supervision of complex and sensitive investigations, leading to prevention, disruption and criminal prosecution outcomes.• Reviewing and reporting on investigations based on scheme, administrative, participant and revenue risks, and monitoring of actions to address identified issues and providing analysis of the findings and outcomes relating to the maturity of the integrity response capability, including investigations.• Developing and maintaining a high-level working relationship with the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions and other APS and law enforcement entities.• Leading the execution of operational activity (including search warrants), which may require domestic air travel and working extended hours including overnight stays.
Enough about us, let's talk about you The ideal candidate will have extensive investigative experience, to the Australian Government Investigation standard (AGIS) in the Australian Public Service (APS), strong experience in the application of traditional and contemporary compliance, enforcement and investigation tools, techniques and methodologies in a government setting.You will hold or be able to obtain within 12 months of commencement with the Agency - Diploma in Government (Investigation), or its equivalentApplicants must have or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at "Negative Vetting Level 1"To be a high-level candidate for this role, you will have undertaken and managed investigation and work activities with an awareness of their impact on strategic, political or operational outcomes.We are seeking someone with excellent communication skills and a solution-focused mindset.
You will demonstrate resilience in overcoming challenges and maintaining focus on tasks.
Your ability to collaborate, manage and influence others to achieve outcomes will ensure you deliver and excel in this role.

While this role is ideally performed from Deakin - ACT, Adelaide - SA, Surry Hills - NSW, Richmond & Geelong - VIC & Brisbane - QLD, remote working arrangements may be considered.
We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles may be offered.
If the position is offered as non-ongoing, this will be for a specified term of up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension for a further 12 months.Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.Applications for this role close 11.30pm (AEST) 6 October 2024
