EL1 Fraud Investigations Branch OpportunitiesCurrently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability.A new role awaitsThe Fraud Fusion Taskforce and Integrity Capability Division (the Division) has several EL1 vacancies across the Fraud Investigations Branch. The Division drives the Agency's integrity response and capability uplift as well as the coordination of the whole-of-government multi-agency Fraud Fusion Taskforce (FFT).Where you can add valueOur division is responsible for:Investigating and responding to internal and external fraud against the NDIS, including undertaking criminal investigations of serious and organised fraud against the NDIS in partnership with Fraud Fusion Taskforce member agencies.Managing the tip-off process and collecting intelligence about integrity concerns to ensure this is acted upon. We develop risk profiles through detection analytics which inform our responses.Providing scalable responses targeted at specific integrity vulnerabilities and cohorts to address known and emerging integrity and fraud matters.Conducting fraud investigations that may progress to prosecutions for serious cases.Overall governance and management of the multi-agency Fraud Fusion Taskforce (FFT), including development of agreed strategic prevention concepts and priorities across FFT agencies and reporting of savings and benefits.EL1 Serious and Complex Non-ComplianceThe Serious and Complex Non-Compliance team takes administrative action against serious non-compliant offenders (including providers, participants, and nominees) as an alternate or parallel treatment to criminal prosecution. The EL1 Assistant Director - Serious and Complex Non-Compliance will exercise a considerable degree of independence to engage in very complex problem solving and issues management within the functions.Responsibilities of the EL1 Serious and Complex Non-Compliance include but are not limited to:Overseeing and managing staff undertaking administrative investigations across multiple risk categories involving a diverse range of subject types in accordance with the NDIS Act and administrative law.Collaborating with the branch to develop fraud capability that reflects effective, innovative practice and contemporary strategy.Driving, developing, and implementing policies, processes, and procedures to further enhance section capabilities.Providing technical advice and communicating outcomes of cases in line with Australian Government Investigations Standards.EL1 Scheme DebtThe Scheme Debt team manages the raising and recovery of debts identified through integrity activities and administrative investigations. The EL1 Assistant Director Scheme Debt is accountable under broad direction to undertake very complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the NDIA.Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:Supporting and managing the Scheme Debt governance framework, including risk control register, quality assurance testing, and reporting metrics on Scheme debt.Managing debt recovery processes in line with the Scheme Debt Policy, including liaison with providers and participants to negotiate payment arrangements, debt write-offs, and waivers.Managing Scheme payments, creating efficiencies and controls, and identifying process improvements to reduce the need for manual payment intervention.Overseeing the development of Standard Operating Procedures for the team, including process mapping requirements.Leading and overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and audit of risk processes, controls, and undertaking issues resolution.Enough about us, let's talk about youYou're a dedicated professional with a strong foundation in integrity, investigation, and policy analysis.
