We are seeking a Digital Content Lead with a passion for creative storytelling and cutting-edge visual design.
In this role, you will lead a small team of expert creatives who produce dynamic, high-quality content—ranging from animated sequences for a Digital Signage Pilot to compelling videos for both internal and external communications.
You will harness high-end creative tools and techniques to craft visually engaging, narrative-driven content that resonates with diverse audiences, including senior leaders and ministers.

Your responsibilities include managing a wide array of multimedia projects, from concept to delivery, ensuring each piece aligns with the department's strategic objectives and National Defence Strategy (NDS) priorities.

You will oversee the end-to-end production pipeline, implementing advanced animation workflows, digital asset management strategies, and state-of-the-art equipment to maintain the highest production standards.
In addition, you will guide your team's professional growth, fostering a collaborative environment that champions creativity, innovation, and audience engagement.

With your strategic vision, you will analyse audience trends, continually refine content approaches, and advise stakeholders on the most effective digital media solutions.
Your role requires exceptional creative direction, adaptability, and the ability to balance innovation with organisational goals, all while delivering projects on time and nurturing strong client and stakeholder relationships.

About our Team
The Defence Digital Media (DDM) team provides critical imagery support aligned with Defence Australia's mission to inform, engage, and enhance the nation's defence through transparent and effective communication.
The team's primary function is to deliver high-quality imagery for internal communication, public affairs, and media.
DDM coordinates imagery collation for major operations and events like Exercise Talisman Sabre and Anzac Day, while also managing the Defence Image Gallery and Defence YouTube channel.
They ensure all imagery meets strict technical and metadata standards and oversee the distribution of cleared imagery to Defence leadership, ministerial offices, and media outlets.
Additionally, the team provides technical guidance to Defence camera teams, manages copyright for external requests, and leads the national Digital Signage Pilot.
