EL1 Cryptology Technical Lead and Cryptology Team Lead Full time Salary Package: $122,686 - $191,615 (plus super) The Cryptology section is seeking to grow its expertise and are looking for applicants who are motivated to contribute to ASD's missions in either a Cryptology Technical Lead or Team Lead position.
The section is looking to fill multiple positions.
In a strong team environment, you will work alongside equally talented colleagues supported by technical and non-technical leadership.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring ASD's cryptologic capabilities are fit-for-purpose and responsive to sensitive and time-critical mission requirements.
As an EL1 Cryptology Technical Lead , your duties may include any of the following: analysing cryptographic data looking for underlying meaning in unfamiliar data and protocols evaluating cryptographic products informing requirements for Australian government cryptographic security working with some of the most powerful supercomputers in the Southern Hemisphere providing cryptographic expertise in support of state and federal government agencies conducting cryptographic research performing reverse engineering and vulnerability research liaising with industry and international standards forums cooperating with partner agencies providing mentoring and technical leadership to colleagues and more junior staff As an EL1 Cryptology Team Lead , your duties may include any of the following: leading and managing a team of cryptanalysts and cryptology technical leads aligning team output with organisational strategic direction managing and contributing to key stakeholder relationships, including other business areas of ASD, partners, suppliers and service providers managing team resources and priorities, and their contribution to section outcomes liaising with internal and external stakeholders to deliver specialist cryptographic expertise on behalf of the team contributing to administrative and business management tasks including recruitment, financial management and learning and development contributing towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development of yourself and the team Please note: we do not expect candidates to be able to do all of these tasks.
