Job Description EL1 Business Analyst 12 month Contract | Canberra Location | $72.84 - $76.85 per hour plus 11% superannuation OVERVIEW Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join their team at the EL1 level. Within this role you will undertake complex compliance and assurance activities, including progressing applications. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Report to the Project Manager (Senior Director). Relationship management. Assist the team to develop a detailed IT design scoping. Assist in project managing the project overall, providing updates on IT development progress and emerging risks. Review technical solutions and ensure they meet the business and user requirements. Assist in identifying and developing business rules from specific program legislation and legislative instruments. EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. The ability to work independently and apply sound professional judgement and decision-making skills in complex situations. The ability to elicit and document relevant stakeholder and solution requirements. The ability to work collaboratively with team members and engage effectively with the team and various other stakeholders and groups. The ability to produce business analysis artefacts following industry standards including Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) 2.0, and Unified Modelling Language (UML). A working knowledge and the application of standard Business Analysis practices and techniques. The ability to describe and document features and user stories and working in multidisciplinary teams to refine and assist in the prioritisation of backlog items. The ability to balance user requirements with the constraints of developing within a COTS-based product that is already in Production. Strong written and oral communication skills – being comfortable demonstrating software to large groups.
