About the role:
This section manages the department's Internal Audit program, produces Corporate Publications such as the Corporate Plan and Annual Report, oversees the fraud and corruption control framework, manages the business continuity framework, risk assessments and provides secretariat support for the Audit and Risk Committee.
Duties:
Manage the DPS Internal Audit program and provide support to the Director Assurance and Governance and DPS Chief Audit Executive. Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships with the outsourced DPS Internal Audit provider. Monitor and review outstanding audit recommendations and look for opportunities to streamline and improve audit practices, including reporting. Manage the DPS Fraud Control Plan, ensure fraud policy, processes, and training are available and up to date. Coordinate and investigate fraud reporting for executive in accordance with the Australian Government Investigation Standards (AGIS). Develop business partnerships across all levels within the department to provide expert advice, guidance and training. Manage a small team, including the Risk and Business Continuity Manager. Oversee the Risk and Business Continuity function, including the development, review and improvement of risk and business continuity policies and processes. Attend meetings of, and provide administrative support to, the DPS Audit and Risk Committee.
Seeking applicants with experience in audit, risk, fraud and governance. Qualifications in fraud investigations or a Cert IV in Government Investigations would be ideal but not essential.
