The Communications Branch provides strategic communication advice and support to the Department, the Repatriation Commission, and the Minister for Veterans' Affairs and Defence Personnel.
Within the Communications Branch, the Digital Services and Design Section delivers a range of digital products for the Department including website maintenance and development, social media management, graphic design services, and digital video production.
The section oversees a range of websites including (but not limited to) the main DVA website, ATDP website, Open Arms, Defence Service Homes Insurance, and the Recognition website. Management of a number of DVA's official social media channels forms part of the section's core function as well. The team also looks after DVA's SharePoint environments such as the intranet and collaboration tools.
This role primarily leads the management of the IT systems and services supporting the Advocacy Training and Development Program (ATDP). These systems include the ATDP Portal (https://web.atdp.org.au/), Continuing Professional Development Portal, Advocacy Register website, ATDP database, hosted servers, and ATDP email system.
The role is primarily responsible for all aspects of the management of the IT service arrangements including agreements, account management, issue resolution, and performance assurance.
The Assistant Director – Web Services ATDP Support ensures quality operations of the IT services and applies continuous service improvement. The role works closely with other DVA business areas to share information, insights, and to ensure approaches are connected and consistent with the management of the ATDP.
