Job Description The Digital Product Design (DPD) Branch is responsible for shaping the future digital experience of the Services Australia ecosystem, including myGov. This is achieved through consistent and seamless design practices aimed at reaching the digital experience target state.
We are seeking dedicated and experienced professionals in service design, user research, and interaction design to lead and inspire our teams at Services Australia. These roles are crucial in ensuring our services are user-centred, effective, and accessible.
Assistant Directors - Service Design: Research, develop, prototype, and test service designs to ensure that services are designed in a way that creates optimal user and staff experience, and delivers business outcomes. They ensure the end-to-end experience is designed to meet the needs of users, reduce or solve pain points, and create a consistent experience across all channels and touchpoints. They are strong advocates for improving government services, exploring opportunities from policy through to delivery, keeping the customer front and centre.
Interaction Design Experts: Manage the development of design concepts for digital products and services. They are able to interpret evidence-based research and incorporate this into their work ensuring the quality of design. They manage detailed projects or programs and develop and manage relationships with stakeholders. In performing a leadership role, they develop future direction and strategies to drive innovation and changes in workplace practices.
Assistant Directors - User Research: Lead the research, development, prototyping, and testing of service designs to ensure optimal user and staff experiences while delivering business outcomes. They promote a customer-first culture, supporting the agency, its partners, and staff to grow and embed new customer-centred capabilities, measurement approaches, and governance arrangements.
These roles exercise a considerable degree of independence and undertake a leadership role, with work being performed under the broad direction of senior staff.
