The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare.
As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability.
For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need.

A new role awaits We have an exciting opportunity for an EL1 Assistant Director to join the Audit Branch in providing independent and objective assurance and consulting to the Agency.
The branch provides a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organisations governance, risk management and internal control processes.
Where you can add value The role involves assisting in the preparation of engagement plans as well as contributing to annual internal audit planning.
You will conduct operational, financial and compliance audit engagements as per the Internal Audit (IA) plan and NDIA IA methodology to improve governance, risk management and internal controls including auditing compliance with relevant legislation and investigations.
Further responsibilities of the role include:  Managing and undertaking internal audits end to end.
Supervising and supporting the team with conducting interviews, completing the Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) and presenting and negotiating audit findings/issues.
Preparing internal audit reports for the Board, the Audit & Risk Committee and Management.
Conducting follow up activities to evaluate sufficiency of evidence for closing IA issues in line with NDIA IA methodology.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on auditing matters as well as periodically presenting to NDIA IA team on engagement outcomes and lessons learned.
Providing leadership for increasing Agency-wide awareness and education of the Internal Audit function and value-add services.
Supporting the Agency with Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) annual financial, performance and performance statements audits.
Enough about us, let's talk about you Our ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in conducting internal audits, with 5-10 years of experience in auditing, risk management, and controls.
We are looking for a strong communicator who excels at building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships.
Your ability to convey information clearly and concisely in plain English will be crucial for effective interactions and report writing.
Your attention to detail and analytical skills will be essential to your success in this role.
This position is within the professional job stream and the officer must possess relevant academic qualifications with membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) or other equivalent professional finance bodies (or holding equivalent finance related post graduate qualifications); together with extensive direct finance experience performing and delivering complex financial and governance outcomes.

While this role is ideally performed from Deakin - ACT, Surry Hills - NSW or Richmond - VIC remote working arrangements may be considered.
We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months with the possibility of extension up to 2 years may be offered.
A merit pool will be established that may be used to fill similar positions (ongoing and non-ongoing) within the next 18 months.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
