Your new role
As the Assistant Director - HR Operations, you will lead a small team responsible for delivering recruitment and payroll services, along with capability development and systems, reporting, and analytics. You will work collaboratively with senior leadership to enhance HR efficiency and align HR initiatives with corporate goals. Your role will involve providing sound advice on HR matters, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement strategies to enhance HR efficiency and align with corporate goals.Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals in recruitment, payroll, and HR systems.Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Provide expert advice on HR matters and resolve complex queries.Manage the relationship with the external payroll provider.Prepare reports, presentations, and communications for organisational and public sector compliance.What you'll need to succeed Demonstrated experience leading business operations and managing stakeholder relationships.Strong payroll experience in a public sector setting.Effective verbal and written communication skills, including persuasive communication.The ability to multitask, work to competing deadlines, and manage change effectively.Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, AHRI accreditation, and/or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.Cultural capability and sensitivity in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.What you'll get in return Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.An opportunity to make a significant impact on the strategic direction and operational success of a national institution.A collaborative and supportive work environment that values professional growth and development.The chance to contribute to the preservation and celebration of Australia's First Nations heritage.What you need to do now
