About the OrganisationRandstad is currently a preferred partner with a reputable Federal Government organisation to recruit for the below role:Job title: EL1 Assistant Director FinanceRate: $602.55 per day + superHybrid location: Richmond + Work from home (WFH)Contract duration: 6 monthsAbout the TeamThe organisation's Budget and Finance Controls Branch is responsible for the financial management of the organisation, and provides insightful financial reporting to enable strategic decision making.Key Responsibilities:Leading and managing key elements of the Financial Reporting team, including overseeing month-end processes, reporting, risk assessments, controls, and balance sheet reconciliation reviews.Driving efficiency and improvements in the month-end reporting cycle, ensuring timely, accurate, and streamlined processes while fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team.Coordinating the monthly close of the General Ledger and reporting activities, ensuring alignment with the organisation and Scheme, while maintaining the centralised ledger journal posting system.Taking charge of the preparation of financial statement notes and schedules, while liaising with the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO) on audit-related matters.Managing relationships with critical stakeholders, including internal and external auditors, business partners, and other key contacts.Overseeing the entire lifecycle management and reporting of the organisation's fixed assets, ensuring smooth collaboration between Corporate Shared Services and internal resources.Ensuring financial compliance and accuracy for the organisation's property lease contracts, and overseeing related financial entries in the lease accounting register.Creating and presenting various financial and business documents, including reports, briefs, and correspondence, tailored for a wide range of audiences.Key Skills Required:Qualified accountant with CA/CPA qualification (desirable)Australian Citizenship.Willing to obtain police checkThe ideal candidate should possess substantial and directly applicable experience in the fields of Financial Accounting, encompassing asset accounting and external agency reporting.
Prior experience in Financial Reporting within a Commonwealth Government Environment is highly preferred.Interested?
